Praying for Our Leaders?

December 20, 2019

Praying for Our Leaders...

I’ve meant to comment earlier about Christianity and the mandate to pray for those in office, and who govern our lives, and to respect dignitaries... so often I hear and read comments and posts that reflect disrespect, hate, and the call for unwarranted & unbridled vengeance.

Those actions are incompatible and the antithesis of the One Christians claim to follow & emulate.

Go ahead, if you’re worthy, pick up that stone and cast it...

The article by F Graham about the magazine Christianity Today is enlightening, especially the disclosure of his father’s presidential choice in 2016. Billy personally knew, and was closely associated with many, many past presidents & First Ladies—he chose Donald Trump.

And in case you think Mr. F Graham is biased, here’s an article from 2014 (President Obama years) authored by Franklin reminding us (from the office and legacy of Billy Graham) what our responsibility as a Christian is.

Franklin Graham: My Response to Christianity Today

This is a Scriptural command:

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior...”
