Bernie Bites...Feel the Burn

“Protecting human lives and dignity...”, check.

These Bernie sound bites seem righteous, but come on, gross distortion of facts & generalizations are equally fear-mongering when pushed by “leaders”

Prisons run by for-profit corporations is less than 10% of inmate housing. So why make the statement?

Generalizations are antagonistic, and serve short sighted leaders

Polarization instills fear. An US/THEM mentality produces enmity, and leads to battle. Reds-Blues. Democrats-Republicans. Donkeys-Elephants. Wops. Greasers. Chinks. Wetbacks. Whites. Shysters. Liberals. Conservatives.

If THEY are not US, when our hunger grows, when our lust stirs, when our want outpaces our resources, taking “theirs” is no longer personal. It’s not even taking/stealing anymore, it’s called “reallocation” & “redistribution”.

The problem is greed, it’s lust, it’s that internal gnawing, thirsting, longing for what we do not have

Demonization of anything only serves to temporarily shift the focus, it’s political slight of hand

Anything, everything, all vocations have been corrupted or tainted, usurped, and hyjacked—it’s not the evil empire, it’s evil in the heart

It’s not the greedy corporation, it’s greed in the heart

That’s the origin, the etiology, the genesis

Then we try and address the problem post facto?

Abortion??
“It’s a woman’s god given right...”
What’s the issue? Right to life or choice? No, selfishness

Apart from non consensual, two people CHOOSE to have sex, their right

But the consequence is shared NOT by that couple alone:
1. The fetus/child’s life is taken
2. The medical staff may and do live with the memories
3. Family members are forced to deal with that memory and act forever
4. If NOT privately paid for, insurance or social assistance pays for the procedure, pre/post screening and counseling

NO, don’t blame society and don’t blame “big”, it is US and the greed & selfishness in us

Ask Bernie to share his millions and three houses, or Liz Warren or AOC—it’s all BS

NOW let’s reason

Do YOU, Mr. Sanders & other politicians NOT know how the US government makes purchases?

Whether for goods and/or most things the Federal government buys (and most States have statutes on purchasing), any purchase over a certain amount etc has to put out a job/project and then receive bids

Those bids can only be fulfilled through companies AND individuals that have properly completed applications and joined the competitive world of transactions w government

The people wanted it this way, to provide equal opportunity (the process is also designed to benefit those that are women, of diverse ethnicity, veterans, small businesses, non-profits, etc who get extra “points” and are granted priority)

It is run by the GSA, the U.S. General Services Administration

When I worked for a small solar design and installation company, the owner wanted to compete and bid/win government contracts

So he had me do the application—I had to go to courses, and seminars and consult w experts, and it took me SIX (6) months of five days a week, full time work to JUST complete properly, go through all the financial and regulatory verification and security checks

The owner of my company was an expert in the field, was a US solar industry representative to other countries, taught in university and was the university renewable energy department chair

AND he could NOT complete the application (he had tried twice before, even hiring a special firm, without even reaching completion).

it was too lengthy, complicated, convoluted and totally embedded with nuanced government speak and concept. The process, the government way of doing business was/is NOT real people friendly.

The process was unintelligible to him, a preeminent expert.

Take a look yourself:
https://www.gsa.gov/.../new.../how-to-sell-to-the-government

My point?

Prisons and insurance will be provided by companies and/or people that meet the government criteria. period

They can be small or big, profit or non, government run or private run, the money still has to be spent and accounted for ultimately BY THE PEOPLE

WE decide by proxy (via representatives) how our money is spent.

Socialism or some variant isn’t the answer

Irregardless of the political & governing system, leaders & representatives make decisions these days

Sadly, to be successful in that competitive environment you have to be aggressive, type-a, goal (vs people) oriented & driven

You’d have to be in that world to understand it; timidity, passivity, and nice are rarely successful—that’s just facts

To me, the real interesting thought is, how were (and are) issues of the sick, needy and deviant addressed by OTHER than large government or urban/city bodies means?

The personal touch? The caring soul? The “small town feel”?

It’s still there. In the small town, in rural places all across America, and the big wide world.

City people seem to be calling for a lifestyle change, and want what rural people already have...yet,

Without having to live out “in the sticks”, among the “simple”, backward, country bumpkins, out there among the hillbillies and rednecks, the unwashed masses, the basket of deplorables, living in Podunk, USA

Such irony...

First, it is the nature of the beast to seek more, from one (1) person to a corporation, organization or government. Greed.

Second, there is an inherently limiting quality to short political terms of office. People run on promises, then
if elected try and remake the wheel and there is NEVER enough time to inform, roll out, execute, evaluate and then make adjustments to plans.

People run, someone runs or takes a position on the whims or changing fancies of the populace, something is started. BOOM, a new cycle begins on top of the old

Ad nauseam infinitum..

Everything is monetized. Employees, Inmates, students, Citizens.

Public or Private—ALL stand to gain or lose money (people) to another group.

When we (private/non-profit) started a charter school, (set aside the altruism of establishing a school for right brain disorders), we were taking away students.

We (private) took the “public” school students from the massive school districts AND they were furious. They fought us.

Why? It wasn’t about the students

It was about the money.

We had a better product, for more value, better results, etc

Yet, they hated us. MONEY

So my point was, and still is:
Privatization is not evil.

Inmates are the cigarette currency to both the government and the private industry. Inmates are currency to each party.

There is no altruism and shining moments of goodness and peace and good will towards men and women. Currency.

The problem (to me), lies in many areas:
-Evil/greed etc at the heart
-Poorly designed and monitored evaluations and oversight
-short governing cycles
-never ending changes and revisions and administration initiatives

The heart is greedy, self serving; and the system(s) are bloated with excess and big enough to resist the inertia of fads, popular whims, and engaging social figures & movements.

Healthcare for another time...but a lead for next talk, maybe, eh, lol

If I as an employer were supplying you with a vehicle for work, would it be both reasonable & prudent (financially & liability) to place some restrictions on that vehicle, seeing I
am paying for it?

I think most ALL from both sides would agree that free health care is “good”, so why delay?

The moral element is the elephant in the room.

Morality? About caring and healing?
Yep.

Think about my work vehicle analogy and follow the money.

Who would the financial burden fall upon? Reds? Blues? Dems? Libs, Reps?

The working class & retirees.

Be practical, pragmatic, realistic, parental, senatorial, think.
