The Hebrew word for horsefly is alukah, their is a Jewish myth of dark Lilith arising from the bloodsucking act of the horsefly. It is the origin of all things vampire.
It represents things & people that take, never give, and are never satisfied. Sorry to be cryptic, it was that sort of mood.
